Traditional Marketing Is Not Dead

With the rise of internet, and thus, social media platforms there has been fear that traditional marketing would, symbolically, die. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, social media is creating a bunch of new ways to reach potential business. Yes, social media is making advertising absolutely FREE a reality. But, there’s something that social media lacks that TV & Radio will always have more of- and that’s trust. Whether or not there’s proof that advertisements presented thru professional news broadcasts and decade old radio stations have more merit, these ads feel as though they have a gold star stamp of approval. The Instagram of a local restaurant can have countless pictures of their “delicious” entrees, however, when your favorite local radio host says he took his wife there for their anniversary is when you go to give it a try. Traditional marketing isn’t dead, it’s changing. Various new platforms, such as Pandora radio (which offers much more efficient tracking), are giving advertisers even more options for hitting their target demographic.
